A Super 3rd Birthday

As mentioned in yesterday's post Felix had his 3rd Birthday yesterday. He received a Super gift in the post from TullyKatAlley , his very own Superhero Felix. He flew him all around the backyard, took him for a ride on his trike, cuddled him during bedtime stories and took him to bed last night. He's a Super gift and will be well loved.
Felix also received a train set, car and a medical kit. We all take turns at being sick and Doctor Felix comes along with his kit and fixes us all up.

WIP - Advent Calendar

The silly season is upon us and I just started making an advent calendar last night. Here's a pic of my kitchen table at the moment. The decision to make one was made back in October but with one thing and another I just didn't get around to starting it any earlier.

It's Felix's 3rd birthday today and he had a super handsome parcel arrive in the post today. More on that later.....

Little Birds

Little Chicken was made months ago with some help from Dad, he designed the wire legs. I've been meaning to develop it further and the year is almost over and I've done nothing.
The crochet owl was made a couple of months ago and I've been trying to make another but I just cant get it right.

Bamboo Face Cloths

I was given a bamboo face cloth and was so impressed with how soft and luxurious it was I made a couple up and will make a few more when I get the chance.

I think a smaller version would be ideal for removing make-up and with the added bonus of being reusable. Another idea I have is to sew up some make-up / travel purses with a waterproof liner so the cloth's would be a nice little addition to them. What do you think?

Bibblers Bandana Bibs

Here are some pictures of a bandana style bib I have been working on for a teenage girl in NSW. I really enjoyed working on the design and then came testing various sample fabrics for absorbancy which involved me at the kitchen sink with a sringe and swatches of fabrics watching how quickly the material absorbed the liquid and seeing how it felt afterwards then throwing them in the dryer and starting again. I also got to use waterproof material which I hadn't sewn before. After the inner and backing material was decided I got to go shopping at all the local quilting shops (the fun part) and pick out lots of gorgeous prints. I must admit now that they are finished and I have posted them off I will be happy not to sew another Bibbler for at least a couple of weeks!

Here's a little more about them.

The Bibbler a stylish clothing accessory for dribblers.

Because they look more like a clothing accessory this makes them ideal for baby/toodler's right thru to children and adults who dribble or spill food. The folds in the fabric help to catch dribbles. The outer cotton layer and inner bamboo material will absorb wetness plus the bottom layer is waterproof to stop clothing from getting damp. They are soft and comfortable to wear all day. Does not contain any plastic or PVC.

Thanks so much to my friend for coming up with the name, Im just not that creative.
